Celebrating Design with Anatolia and Leslie Cotter
Bayonne House: A Parisian-Inspired Retreat Rooted in Timeless Elegance
back to editorial back to editorial

There are spaces that simply function, and then there are spaces that transform the way we feel. Bayonne House by Leslie Cotter Interiors belongs firmly in the latter. Designed as a deeply personal retreat inspired by the quiet luxury of boutique European hotels, the ensuite balances softness, sophistication, and architectural clarity in a way that feels both elevated and entirely livable.

From the moment you enter the space, there is an immediate sense of calm. Light moves gently across polished surfaces while subtle textures and tonal layering create depth without overwhelming the eye. Every material selection feels intentional, contributing to an atmosphere that is refined yet welcoming. The result is an interior that captures timeless elegance through restraint rather than excess.

At the center of the design is Anatolia’s Mayfair Strada Ash glazed porcelain tile in a polished rectified finish. Its delicate linear movement introduces rhythm and fluidity throughout the room, evoking the understated beauty often found in Parisian interiors. Rather than acting as a bold statement, the surface quietly shapes the mood of the space, creating visual movement that feels organic and serene.

Used throughout the ensuite, the Mayfair Strada Ash collection becomes more than a finish; it becomes part of the architectural language of the room itself. Its polished surface reflects light delicately, enhancing the openness of the space while maintaining a grounded warmth. Paired with clean lines, soft neutral tones, and carefully curated details, the tile helps establish a cohesive visual experience that feels effortless and enduring.

What makes Bayonne House particularly compelling is its balance between luxury and livability. The design does not rely on fleeting trends or dramatic gestures. Instead, it embraces a quieter form of sophistication, one rooted in proportion, material harmony, and emotional comfort. It is a space designed not only to be admired, but truly experienced.

“A hotel-inspired ensuite rooted in elegance with a Parisian flair,” explains designer Leslie Cotter. “The soft linear movement in the tile adds depth and flow, creating a serene and timeless retreat.”

Projects like Bayonne House reflect the evolving role of porcelain within contemporary interior design. Beyond durability and performance, porcelain has become a medium capable of shaping atmosphere and emotion through texture, tone, and subtle visual movement.

In this project, Anatolia’s Mayfair collection demonstrates how surface materials can contribute to a larger design narrative, one that feels timeless, immersive, and deeply human.
