POSITION SCOPE: 
 
The Quality Inspector is responsible for completing inspections of incoming materials into the warehouse. Duties include opening pallets and packaging, completing the product inspection using provided tools and guidelines, reporting and documenting results with photos, repacking materials, and other duties as assigned.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

·         Inspecting inbound materials for quality control, documenting and reporting any deficiencies, issues or deviations                    
-         Sorting product for specific quality defects, ensuring quality control protocols are adhered to                              
·         Repacking, strapping and re-skidding tile/stone as necessary                                                                                    
·         Performing other duties as assigned                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
·         High school diploma or equivalent required                                                    
·         6 to 12 months experience in a similar capacity from within a similarly related industry is required
·         Work requires limited amount of analysis, problem solving and reasoning in duties that are straightforward, repetitive and involve                      different but related processes and methods                                                    
·         Demonstrated accountability for quality, accuracy and adherence to work instructions with some discretion required when exercising              duties within pre-determined limits and procedures                                                   
·         Demonstrated capability to provide guidance to other staff as needed in relation to the execution of job duties and assigned projects    -         Demonstrated understanding that work contributions have limited influence beyond the immediate work unit. Work is controlled                      through overseeing accuracy, sufficiency, and compliance with instructions
·         Demonstrated ability to follow established standards and procedures with limited creative thinking and problem solving                            -        Ability to work independently as well as in contact with peers or direct supervisor within work unit and is related to job duties involving            the exchange of routine information                                                
·         Minimal to no interaction with internal or external customers                                                      
·         No interaction with external parties that would have an impact on the employer brand or public reputation.
·         Flexible and able to work overtime hours as required, and must be able to get to this location reliably and consistently             - -                        Comfortable or proficient using standard quality protocols and various other software/systems for effective and efficient quality                      assurance transactions                                                                                                                                                                                                      
 
 WORKING CONDITIONS:                
                                                                                                                                                                                                    
·         Work is performed in a warehouse environment with moderate exposure to: (a) fluctuating heat and cold temperatures; (b) some                      noise associated with forklift traffic; and (c) WHMIS chemicals 
·         PPE safety equipment must be worn and precautions exercised                                                               
·         Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly throughout an 8 hour shift  
·         Duties may require a high level of sustained visual attention for periods of time and moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis          -         Work requires the ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time 
           Work requires the ability to bend, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, and stretch frequently
